Mater Misericordiae University Hospital - Assessment of two commercially available CT phantoms

Over the summer, a research project between Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, University of College Dublin, and St. James Hospital was published comparing a pair of CT phantoms and software solutions.

It included the Phantom Lab Catphan 600 and our Pro-CT mk II phantom and Diagnomatic software solution.

The primary objective of the study was to optimize CT quality assurance testing and streamline operations.

The study found both phantoms to be very similar, but found the Diagnomatic software had features that were “highly beneficial in streamlining the QA process.” These included:

1.            Automated QA summaries

2.            Trend data analysis

3.            Ability to recommend future testing dates
